I am a 75 year-old mother of 7 sons, 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  I have worked at full-time employment 27 ½ years, plus 10 years part-time after retirement.  My employment has always required me being on my feet.  In spite of the above, I’ve always had a weight problem.

I love to dance and do other active things.  Those extra pounds put stress on my back, legs and feet.  The pain in my joints became so bad I was taking some strong medication.  The doctor told me my blood pressure needed controlling.  With all the medication required, I was starting to have dizzy spells and having a real fear of falling.

In December 2003, I saw an ad with a coupon for Healthy Inspirations.  I thought this has to be the solution to my problems.  With my life-long Irritable Bowel Syndrome kicking up, I didn’t really have any choice.  By the end of my first month, my blood pressure was nearly normal and by spring, no more medication.  My joint pain has also subsided.

Keeping a journal of the foods I eat, the three visits each week and 3 days of using the exercise circuit have put me back on track.  I’m within a couple of pounds of my weight loss goal of 80 pounds.  The protein supplements keep my sweet tooth in check and I feel so good about myself.

If someone my age can change her lifestyle, so can anyone else!

Dancing is a lot more fun, too!
